KUCHING: Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) yesterday received medical equipment and supply for its intensive care unit (ICU), valued at a total of RM120,000, donated by the Head of State (TYT) Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.
The equipment include one unit of portable ultrasound linear probe, five units of anti DVT, two units of fibreoptic scope and two units of syringe pump. The equipment will be placed at the ICU ward, specially set up for Covid-19 patients.
On hand to receive the donation from the senior private secretary to the Head of State, Datuk Mustapa Han at the TYT’s Office were SGH director Dr Ngian Hie Ung and SGH’s Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Department head Dr Teo Shu Ching.
Apart from the equipment, the TYT also donated 700 packed food and mineral water for distribution to the police, armed forces and neighbourhood watch committee personnel who are on duty to mount roadblocks during the movement control order (MCO) period.

appealed to all Sarawakians to give their full cooperation and follow strictly
the MCO which had been extended by another two weeks until April 14.
He said the people’s full cooperation was crucial to contain the Covid-19
pandemic and eventually eradicate it.
On the widespread of fake news online, he advised the people not to be gullible and to acquire the correct information only from the Health Ministry and relevant authorities.
