KUCHING: A total of 113 persons received state awards and medals from the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud during and investiture at the Dewan Besar, Astana Negeri, Petra Jaya today.
Heading the list of recipients were community leaders, Temenggong Nicholas Boyok Pura, Temenggong Joseph Ngau Lian and Abdullah Jani who were awarded the Johan Bintang Kenyalang (JBK).
Five persons received the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS) namely Lee Khoi Yun, Yong Hin Yew, Jelani Ajang, Huong You Hui and Eda Ibon; seven others received the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK); 21 awarded the Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS); eight received the Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK) award and 26 received the Bentara Bintang Sarawak (BBS) award.
The public service award – Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB), went to 11 recipients including assistant commissioners of Prisons, Hamdan Salleh Majin and Peleadzman Ahip.
Thirty-two others received the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT) award.
Also present at the ceremony was Yang di-Pertua Negeri’s wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib.
