KUCHING: A school headmaster claimed trial to criminal breach of trust (CBT) for allegedly misappropriating special needs student (EMK) allowances amounting to RM4,500 in the Sessions Court here on Friday.
Madahan Busman, 48, pleaded not guilty to the charges framed against him under Section 409 of the Penal Code.
Madahan, who is the headmaster of Sekolah Kebangsaan Beradek in Padawan, had been entrusted with RM4,500 cash money allocated for the EMK allowance but had allegedly failed to distribute the money to the students between Jan 2019 and Dec 2019.
Alternatively, he was charged with embezzling the EMK allowance of RM4,500 for his own use, between Jan 2019 to Dec 2019.
Sessions Court Judge Steve Ritikos allowed the accused to be released on RM10,000 bail with two local sureties.
The court fixed July 23 for pre-trial case management with the trial to be heard from Sep 22 to 28.
