SIBU: A 49-year-old female teacher poured hot water on a 40-year-old headmaster during a misunderstanding, leaving the left side of his body scalded.

The headmaster also suffered injuries to his left arm and scratches on one of his legs.

According to Sibu Police Chief, ACP Saiful Bahri, the misunderstanding occurred at about 10.22am on Friday at a primary school in Lebaan which comes under the Bawang Assan state constituency in Sibu Division.

The misunderstanding was believed to have occurred when the headmaster decided to monitor the teaching techniques of the female teacher without informing her beforehand.

When the teacher questioned the sudden presence of the headmaster, a quarrel erupted.

“When the headmaster tried to get out of the class, the suspect chased him and splashed hot water on him from a glass she was holding in her hand,” said Saiful, adding that the teacher also kicked the headmaster with her feet and tried to hit him with the glass.
