KUCHING: Collaboration among government agencies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and the private sector are highly encouraged to raise health awareness.
In stating this, Political Secretary to the Premier Dr Dayang Norfizawati Abang Abdul Karim said that cooperation of these three parties can achieve the mission and vision of spreading awareness to the target communities, especially in the rural areas.
“When health related programmes like this are organised, we can motivate the public to undergo health screenings.
“Medical check-ups such as blood pressure and sugar level checks are essential to ensure individuals’ health is always in good condition,” she stressed.
She said this while representing Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Law, Malaysia Agreement 1963, and State-Federal Relations) Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali at the 2024 Health Medical Camp held at CityOne Megamall on Sunday (May 18).
Dayang further emphasised the importance of health screenings to detect early signs of diseases for a timely treatment.
“When diseases are detected early, we can take immediate action because prevention is better than cure,” she said.
On a related note, she also praised Lions Club Kuching Unity and Persatuan Pembangunan Insan Sarawak (PPIS) for organising the programme which greatly benefits the community.
In this context, she also praised the Kuching Unity Lions Club and PPIS for organizing a program that benefits the community.
“We hope that such initiatives will continue in the future. I have been informed that this programme will be extended to Kapit and other districts in Sarawak soon.
“Therefore, we welcome the collaborations between these three parties to achieve the objective of reaching target groups, especially in rural areas,” she reiterated.
