KUCHING: Thanks to generous donations from the public, a Bandar Kuching resident, who suffers from spine injuries, recently received a new bed.

With the contributions, Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen said, the gentleman would no longer have to sleep on the floor, and it would be simpler for his family members to assist him in getting up if necessary.

“I paid a house visit to a constituent who suffered a spine injury in a workplace accident about 10 months ago. He currently can’t walk properly and can only move slowly with the help of stretches.

“There were kind donations from the public after Pending assemblywoman Violet Yong and I last visited, so we brought him a bed,” he told our reporter today.

Dr Yii also stated that his office has set aside contributions and food aid to assist the gentleman with some of his medical and daily expenses.

He went on to say that this was also to ensure that the gentleman’s young children could attend school.
