JOHOR BAHRU: The Johor government has set up a Legal Bureau Helpline to help women in need of counselling.
State Tourism, Women, Family and Community Development Committee chairman, Liow Cai Tung said the initiative, carried out under the Darul Takzim Family Development Foundation (YPKDT), targeted low-income women, single mothers, people with disabilities and senior citizens.
“The number to contact is 1300 807 000 and can be reached every day from 8am to 5pm, while the counselling service is free.
“Callers will be referred to YPKDT first and then taken to the relevant departments or agencies for assistance,” she told reporters after launching YPKDT’s “Jejak Golongan Sasar” programme here, yesterday.
Meanwhile, YPKDT chief executive officer, Mohd Helmi Sha’ri said the foundation also planned to offer the counselling service to non-Muslims. – Bernama
