KUCHING: As Muslims celebrate Aidiladha this Friday, the weekend also packs a significant date for the people of Kuching City as Saturday marks the 32nd year anniversary for Kuching being recognised as a city.
Like all other celebrations before this, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and as an effort to curb its spread, the 32nd anniversary celebration of Kuching City Day will be low-key.
Kuching South City Mayor Datuk Wee Hong Seng said that a simple ceremony will be held to mark Kuching City Day on August 1 to commemorate the day that Kuching was granted the city status in which was in the year 1988.
