SIMANGGANG: The National Vaccination Programme meant to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic has finally reached Sri Aman district.
Three assemblymen, namely Datuk Francis Harden Hollis (Simanggang) together with Balai Datuk Snowdan Lawan (Balai Ringin) and Datuk Mong Dagang (Bukit Begunan) were vaccinated on Monday together with Sri Aman Resident Indit Bangai as well as his deputies Elvis Didit, Frank Lani and Ramon Addy.
These vaccinations were done to provide a good example to the community that the state government is totally committed to curbing the spread of Covid-19 by ensuring that every citizen is vaccinated, said a statement.
“The purpose of the vaccine is to strengthen the body’s immunity against the virus. This pandemic has affected various aspects of the human life worldwide.
“We hope that after the vaccine was taken by the chief minister and members of the state Cabinet, the people will not worry too much on the side effects of the vaccine because the vaccine itself has gone through rigorous testing by medical scientists,” said the statement.
Citizens are urged to get free injections by registering through the MySejahtera application or manually through their respective longhouse and village chiefs.
“It is the responsibility of the government to provide vaccines while the people are responsible to cooperate and get themselves vaccinated,” they added.
Also present at the National Vaccination Programme in Sri Aman District were Sri Aman Division Health officer Dr Euphrasia Bari and Sri Aman Hospital director Dr Hazwani Yusof.
