KUCHING: The Yayasan Perpaduan Sarawak (YPS) under the chairmanship of the Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, will organise a high tea on April 10 to kick start the year’s unity engagement programme.
In a press statement issued yesterday, the Chief Executive Officer of Sarawak Unity Foundation, Datu Aloysius Dris said that the initiative aimed to engage directly with relevant stakeholders, who are involved directly in promoting and organising activities or programmes on unity.
He added that the ultimate purpose of the initiative, which is being organised in collaboration with Sarawak Islamic Information Centre, aimed to identify a common meeting point for all to work together in strengthening unity in the State and country.
The former CEO of Sarawak Development Institute (SDI) and Angkatan Zaman Mansang Sarawak (AZAM Sarawak) also revealed that Tun Taib would be delivering a keynote address based on the theme, Strengthening Unity – Our Agenda.
Tun Taib will be sharing his thoughts on unity and harmonious relationship among the people of diverse ethnic and religious groups in the State and country.
Representatives from interfaith organisations, community associations, civil society organisations, youth organisations and relevant government departments would be invited to attend the event.
