PUTRAJAYA: Former Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein is expected to give his statement on the ministry’s land swap
deal issue to Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) this Sunday.
MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Seri Azam Baki said former Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who has also served as a defence minister, already had his statement recorded over the same issue on Thursday.
Azam also did not rule out the possibility for MACC to call former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to give his statement on this issue.
“We are still collecting evidence and taking statements from the others first and will call him (Najib) when it is appropriate,” he told reporters after the MACC press conference on the latest update on the 1Malaysia Development Malaysia Berhad (1MDB) case here yesterday. – Bernama
