New Sarawak Tribune interviewed several individuals who attended the JAKM carnival to seek their views about the programme and their expectations.
Monty Ludan, 46, director
‘JAKM is a good opportunity for the people of Sarawak because they can be exposed to the initiatives available which will benefit people from all walks of life. It is part of the national initiatives to educate them and share information about what the government is doing for their future. I agree this programme should continue, but I suggest that it be held statewide as Sarawak is a big region so that more Sarawakians will benefit from the programme.
Jovena Henry, 29, sales advisor
‘The public can visit and explore each booth to understand the government’s initiatives.’
Serepah Brain, 52, housewife
‘I received information about this programme over the phone. After learning that this programme has information about job opportunities, I brought my children here to try their luck. Programmes like this need to continue so that the community can benefit.
Isa Raweng, 57, private worker
‘This programme is very beneficial to the local community, especially those who are looking for work. However, Sarawak is quite big and we hope the programme can be organised throughout the state so that no one is left behind.
