KAPIT: Kapit Unity and National Integration Officer Jendri Mangku recently called on the Neighbourhood watch Committee (Rukun Tetangga-KRT) of Sungai Pulang, in Baleh here to be creative and innovative in holding activities to invite all age groups to participate.
“I would like to urge the KRT of Sungai Pulang and other KRTs in Bukit Mabong and Kapit districts to be creative and innovative in organising various activities to invite all age groups to participate, especially youths. KRTs in Kapit Division must plan activities to attract their participation.
“Meanwhile I would like to urge you to organise various activities including social welfare for the desperate and needy, children education such as motivation talk or seminar, river transport safety as the main mode of transport in Kapit is river, good health practices and gotong royong. Our goal is to attract everyone in the neighbourhood to play their parts,” said Jendri when officiating at the ‘Program Jalinan KRT Sungai Pulang’ held at Rumah Itu at Sungai Pulang, a tributary of the Baleh River recently.
She pointed out that the goal of the KRT in the locality is to promote a caring society, instil the spirit of voluntarism, friendly neighbourhood and to foster close ties among one another as well as to look after peace and security of the area.
“As neighbourhood members you are the grassroots leaders and to act as eyes and ears of the government to inform the relevant authorities what happens on the ground especially helping the police to deter would be thief,” added Jendri.
