LAWAS: Development in Lawas must be approached holistically, covering all aspects to improve the community’s quality of life while enhancing the area’s image at the Indonesian border.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan stressed the importance of a comprehensive development strategy, aligning with the Sarawak government’s progress.
“When it comes to roads, we must build high-quality roads at the Indonesian border, through Ba’kelalan, as this reflects our image. The same applies to telecommunications, education, and healthcare, with plans to construct a new hospital here.
“Our current focus is on advancing all areas of development to elevate the community’s standard of living,” he said during a recent community dinner with Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Datuk (Dr) Johari Abdul.
Awang Tengah, who is the Bukit Sari assemblyman, expressed hope that Malaysia would remain stable and peaceful, a goal shared by the Sarawak government.
“With this stability, peace and harmony will be preserved, enabling the government to concentrate on attracting investments both locally and internationally,” he said.
Meanwhile, Johari said Malaysia is a remarkable country, capable of maintaining peaceful coexistence in a multiracial society.
“God willing, our country will progress. We must ensure that our children are disciplined, educated, and always uphold the dignity of our nation,” he added.
