SIBU: Twenty-two home owners of a housing estate in Lorong Teku here were told to liaise with the Sibu Municipal Council (SMC) to sort out their problem pertaining to the occupation permit (OP) of their properties.
The home owners could not obtain OP for their houses because its developer went bankrupt before completing the project.
It is learnt that SMC could not proceed with the issuance of the OPs because most of the infrastructure such as drainage and roads have not been completed.
Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) youth chief Micheal Tiang therefore suggested that the affected home owners meet up with SMC to discuss how best to resolve the problem.
He told the affected home owners this during a meeting with them on their plight in Sibu yesterday.
“I’ve suggested to the residence to seek help from the SMC on how they can work together to complete the unfinished infrastructure.
“After all SMC will be the one to approve the infrastructure once they have been constructed,” he added.
