BINTULU: Swift action by a home owner managed to save his house in Kampung Datu from being razed to the ground this morning (Oct 16).
A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Bintulu station were despatched to the scene after receiving a distress call around 4.15am.
It was reported that the house’s main switch box caught fire and caused damage to the ceiling.
The team found that the fire had been extinguished by the owner before they arrived at the scene.
Monitoring works were also carried out to ensure that the situation was safe before the team departed back to the station.
