KUCHING: A financially struggling family in Semariang has found help through a local non-governmental organisation (NGO), Hope Place.
Qasyiffa Rzqiyah Ikmal Rezal, affectionately known as Baby Qas’ father, Ikmal Rezal Eddy, is a contract construction worker, and mother, Norhayatie Hassan, is a cleaner, facing the challenges of caring for their one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
Baby Qas suffers from multiple serious health issues, including Down syndrome, speech delay, lung problems, and hyperthyroidism, as stated in a release by Hope Place today (Aug 22).
“Baby Qas is very sensitive to baby formula, and according to her mother, she only drinks a particular baby milk powder as it does not make her vomit or cause diarrhoea,” the statement said.
As per the statement, Baby Qas is actively crawling, but unfortunately, she always experiences shortness of breath.
“Her mother mentioned that the doctor indicated Baby Qas may need to rely on an oxygen machine for the rest of her life.
“And due to her low blood oxygen levels, she will undergo a CT scan to diagnose her lung condition,” the statement added.
Currently, Hope Place is supporting Baby Qas with a special baby formula, and they would like to express their gratitude to donors and sponsors who consistently support families and marginalized children like Baby Qas in Kuching.
To help children in need like Baby Qas, donations can be made to the NGO’s Maybank account, 5112 8900 1160, or to their Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/hopeplacekuching, to get their Sarawak Pay QR code.
