KUCHING: Informed by a concerned member of the public recently, charity organisation Hope Place came to the aid of a 65-year-old man in Samarahan near here.

Achan Tair lives in Kampung Mang Besi by himself and is struggling with health and financial issues.

He cannot stand up for too long and has to use a walking stick. He has also been suffering from a health condition for over 15 years.

Asking whether this had anything to do with Parkinson’s disease, he told Hope Place that he wouldn’t know as he had no one to rely on to bring him for a medical check-up.

Achan does not have any income and has been relying on the kindness of people from his village.

Before this, he had taken care of himself but due to his condition, he is unable to do much now.

During the visit, Hope Place was saddened by the conditions at Achan’s house, and is planning to rope in volunteers to whip the place into shape.
