KUCHING: Hope Place recently came to a concerned mother’s aid after receiving her request for special milk for her baby, who suffers from lung problems.

Thirty-year-old housewife Pui Kiaw Inn’s seven-month-old infant uses an oxygen machine to help him breathe normally. She explained that her baby was born premature as she had given birth to him at only six months of pregnancy.

Pui’s husband works as a mechanic, but since the start of the movement control order (MCO), business has been slow and therefore their income has lessened.

Currently, the family is renting a small room for RM500 monthly near Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) to ease Pui’s visits to the hospital.

Hope Place provided the infant with a one-off supply of special milk, which will last three months. The contribution was handed over by Hope Place founder Kelvin Wan.

The infant requires six boxes of special milk per month, with each box having a market price of around RM95.
