KUCHING: A 38-year-old widow felt great relief upon being visited by a local non-governmental welfare organisation, Hope Place, yesterday.

The widow, identified only as Wati, was forced to fend for herself and four young children after her husband died in an accident at his workplace about a month ago.

Her eldest is only 11 years old; the second, nine years old, while the two youngest at two years old are twins.

A team of volunteers from Hope Place went to visit the family after being informed about her predicament by her relatives.

According to Wati, the accident which took the life of her husband occurred sometime in October.

“Since then our life totally changed for the worse and we are now forced to stay with my aunt in Tapah village by the Kuching-Serian Road,” she said.

Wati expressed gratitude to her aunt as well as other relatives who have been helping them since the day her husband passed away.
