KUCHING: Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar hopes for the country’s politics to be stable as we move forward into the new year.
He said political stability was important to ensure the country’s economic stability.
“It will also enable the government’s machinery to smoothly implement what has been approved by the parliament in relation to the 2021 Budget,” he said.
He also stated that without political stability, the country’s economy would not be guaranteed.
“When politics is not stable, the foreign investors will not come to invest in the country and if they do, they will have to put their guards up,” he added.
He told this to the media during his work visit to the Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Berhad (Angkasa) Sarawak office and BA100 outlet at Jalan Matang on Sunday (Dec 27).
Wan Junaidi also advised politicians to carry out their tasks in serving the people and not play politics for their own interests and position.
“They should know the purpose of politics is to gain power and this power should be used to govern the country as well as taking care of the people’s welfare.
“If the politician fails to do so, then he or she is not qualified to be a politician,” he stressed.
