KUCHING: Kuching Park Hotel is now equipped with technological facilities that will offer an interesting experience to customers.
Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah commended the innovation carried out by the hotel because Malaysia is also focusing on “Smart Tourism” which involves the digitalisation and development of smart, innovative and futuristic products as well as related services.
He was pleased to see that Kuching Park Hotel had already set the pace in establishing their “smart and digital” initiatives which may be ahead of the rest.
“Such initiatives are also important in securing a resilient and sustainable tourism industry that is ready to face the future challenges or any crisis, head on.
“We must be able to face any adversity including the dreaded pandemics if the mitigating factors are well in place,” he said at the opening of Kuching Park Hotel-First Smart Digital Hotel held at its lobby, today (Feb 21).
Kuching Park Hotel general manager Mason Tang said the hotel, which is one of the medium scale hotels in the city undertook a huge change to its operation in renewing its brand by embracing technology for the future.
He said a number of hotels across the world had started to implement the smart hotel concept, including the United States, Germany, Taiwan and even Singapore.
“With the announcement of the Sarawak Digital Economy Blueprint by the Premier of Sarawak last year, we believe that Sarawak is now ready to embrace the smart hotel concept,” he said.
With its history of over three decades in the local hotel industry, Tang said the hotel had made major changes in many areas.
“The exterior facade of the hotel was given a fresh new coat of paint with brighter colours.
“The rooms were refurbished and enhanced with new technology features, and the lobby as well as the resturant have had their upgrades too,” he added.
Tang said the refurbishment works finally concluded last year and among the latest facilities include smart self-check-in and out kiosks; keyless entry; room service robots; voice-activated robots and centralised control of room functions with a smartphone.
To give opportunities for local and foreign visitors an experience on the latest ‘smart features’ at Kuching Park Hotel, the management is offering the ‘Discover Kuching Park’ promotion with special rates starting as low as RM100 nett inclusive of breakfast for one person when booking via the ‘Hello World Rewards’ Apps.
The promotion also offers rooms at RM115 nett inclusive of breakfast for one when bookings are made via the hotel’s website at www.kuchingparkhotel.com .
