MIRI: A one-meter long cobra decided to make a pre-Chap Goh Meh visit to a family in Prominjaya, Senadin here last night (Feb 5).

The reptile slithered into the family’s car porch.

The shocked house owner, who just wished to be identified as Mr Jee, wasted no time in alerting the Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba).

“It was moving very slowly. Luckily I noticed it when I was walking out of the front door,” he said.

Acting Miri Fire and Rescue chief Ahmad Nizam Sapaiee said a team the Lutong fire station was mobilised to the  house around 11.13pm.

“The team managed to remove the reptile safely and released it back to its natural habitat,” he said.

Firemen manage to capture the snake.
