The 19-year-old housebreaking suspect suspect has been remanded for further investigations.

MARUDI: Police yesterday arrested a 19-year-old male suspect near a bus stop at Rh. Kos Sg Lutong Bakong for allegedly breaking into a house at Sg. Lutong Atas Beluru last Saturday.

The police team led by Sergeant Saudi arrested the suspect  from Rumah Henry Chalin Teru, Tinjar Baram based on public information.

Baram  District police chief, DSP Gabriel Anak Risut, in his statement, explained the suspect was arrested by police following a report lodged by a complainant. 

According  to the complainant’s report, when he and  his friend returned from the farm at around 3.00pm last Saturday, they found a blue Yamaha motorcycle parked in front of his house.

The complainant found his house had been ransacked when he entered it.

He also found two mobile phones belonging to his wife were missing.

When the complainant checked the motorcycle parked in front of his house, he  found an identity card belonging to the suspect in a wallet inside a bag on the bike.

While the complainant was checking the bag, a man dashed into the nearby bushes.

The complainant and his friend tried to catch the man but failed.
