KUCHING: A continuous heavy downpour in the wee hours today inundated several houses and roads in Taman Desa Wira here.
The Sarawak Civil Defence Force (APM) said Kampung Sinar Budi in Desa Wira was flooded up to waist deep level, cutting off road connectivity to the area.
As of 10 am, an estimated 50 houses were affected by the flash floods.
Meanwhile, in Kampung Bumbok Tengah, Bau, water level continues to rise causing road connectivity to be cut off.
At the time of writing, water levels continue to rise as the downpour showed no signs of abating.
No evacuation was conducted in the area.
Similarly, at Jalan Stakan (Jamboree), road connectivity to several houses was also cut off.
However, none of the residents were evacuated as the water level has subsided.
An estimated nine houses were affected by flash floods this morning.
