KULIM: Housewife Mardiana Rasudin, 34, started selling ice ball hardly a year ago to cater for the children in her neighbourhood, and the business flourishes, especially with the current hot weather, as can be seen from the long queue at her stall at Taman Lagenda, Padang Serai, here.
“I use an average of 60 blocks of ice daily to produce about 300 ice balls. On weekends, I’ll need more ice blocks because there will be more demand for ice balls, even when it rains,” she said when met by Bernama at her stall.
She said besides the customers that patronised her stall, she also received orders from nearby schools, hospitals and factories.
Mardiana said customers could request for ice ball with various flavours at her stall.
“When I started the business, there was only one flavour, cocoa. Now, my customers have a choice of 10 flavours, such as mango, syrup, kiwi, strawberry and mixed fruits.
“The price is between RM3 and RM6 per cup,” she said, adding that what made her ice ball special is the use of white cream which she prepared herself.
“It is the white cream that makes the ice ball from my stall tastes different from others,” she added.
Mardiana said she got the recipe for the white cream from a Facebook friend. – Bernama
