KUCHING: The Sarawak Housing Purchasers Claim Tribunal has ordered a developer to pay compensations totalling over RM32,400 to three house buyers of a housing estate in Semariang here for late delivery of properties.
Its president Peter Lim Tian Seng said the developer has been ordered to pay RM9,597.75, RM13,006.25 and RM9,815.50 respectively to three separate claimants for late delivery of their homes.
“The developer is also instructed to repair any damage to the building within 45 days from the hearing of the case today (Mar 31),” Lim told a press conference after presiding at the cases at the Kuching Court Complex.
Also in attendance were tribunal panelists Robert Elone Sireng and Mohamad Abdul Aziz Ariffin.
In a separate case, the tribunal also heard claims from three other complainants regarding apartments that had yet to have an Occupancy Permit (OP) in the same housing estate.
Lim noted that the apartment has been abandoned.
“Considering that the apartment in question does not have an OP and there is no certainty that it can be completed in the near future, the tribunal advised the complainants to resubmit their claim,” he explained.
