DATUK Seri Huang Tiong Sii (GPS-Repok) has suggested that a low-cost housing project and a middle-cost housing project for Repok state constituency be included in the 12th Malaysia Plan.
“A lot of B40 individuals from the Sarikei district, especially Repok, who are working in the cities cannot afford to buy their own houses and opt to rent rooms,” he said.
“With that, I hope that the state government can build houses to alleviate their burden,” he added.
Huang made the suggestion while participating in the debate on the Supply (2020) Bill, 2019 yesterday.
He also proposed that the landlines and internet lines in his constituency be upgraded.
He explained that areas in Sarikei such as Bulat, Sare, Kim San, Bayong and Merudu still did not have stable landlines and internet lines.
“I urge the government to consider building a telecommunications
tower in Repok so that rural folk can access the Internet,” he said.
Huang also proposed the implementation of treated water supply to the interior areas of his constituency.
“This is because there is still no supply of treated water in Ulu Sarikei, Ulu Sare, Sungai Mawang Rusa and Ulu Sungai Bayong,” he explained.
