KUCHING: Home owners of Shefford View Neighbourhood at Lorong Stampin Tengah 5 have protested over the use of the lane as the main access to a proposed condominium project.
The residents approached Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Public Complaint Bureau chief Wilfred Yap to object and oppose of any vehicular ingress or egress from the proposed condominium construction site into the residential area.
Presently, Lorong Stampin Tengah 5, which is gazetted for vehicles of up to five tonnes and installed with road humps, is already congested with traffic from the 1,000 or more residents there. It is also being used by non-residents and commercial vehicles from Green Heights area to 4th Mile Jalan Penrissen which further aggravate the traffic congestion during peak hours.
Yap said on 10th November 2016, on behalf of the affected residents of Shefford View Neighbourhood, he had written to the Ministry of Resource Planning and Environment and the Land and Survey Department to notify them on the resident’s protest on the matter.
However, no response was received from the authorities.
The affected residents now requested Yap to convey their predicament to the Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Haji Johari Tun Openg and hoped the relevant authorities would order the developer to use Jalan Datuk Bandar Mustapha as the main access to the construction site.
