KUCHING: Schools in the Repok constituency recently received the much-needed school facilities such as desks and chairs, which were contributed by Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii.

A presentation ceremony for the school facilities was conducted by Wong Zee Yeng on behalf of Huang for SMK Sungai Paoh and SK Selangan.

A total of 120 desks and 120 chairs were handed over to SMK Sg Paoh while 100 chairs were given to SK Selangan.

Huang, who is also the Sarikei MP and Repok assemblyman, said in a press statement that adequate facilities in schools made the learning atmosphere conducive, supported the students’ learning process and had a positive impact on their academic performances..

“I place a high priority on education and am deeply concerned about educational matters in my constituency.

“Since becoming a representative, I have donated school bags, shoes and uniforms to students in my area to help ease the financial burden on parents,” he said.

Huang hoped that his contributions would provide comfort and benefit the rural communities. He pledged to continue improving and upgrading the educational facilities in his area.
