MIRI: Responding to complaints about the long queue and crowded situation at Miri Indoor Stadium for Covid-19 swab tests, minister in-charge of Miri Divisional Disaster Committee (DDMC), Datuk Lee Kim Shin on Tuesday (Jan 12) went to the location.

He was accompanied by acting Miri Resident Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusuf, acting Miri Health Officer Dr P Raviwharmman, Miri police chief ACP Hakemal Hawari and Rela officers.

Among the action taken to alleviate the situation were, those called by the health office to come for the test, they would be given a designated time; those who volunteer for the test, there will be a different lane for them.

Also, a proper signboard will be set up to differentiate appointment and walk-in group’s registration counter and social distancing markings on the floor while queuing for registration.

Lee urged everyone to observe standard operating procedure guidelines for the safety of everyone.

“We are now a red zone, your cooperation is much needed to overcome this challenge. In addition, Rela and police officers will be there to assist and monitor the traffic.”
