KUCHING: The twenty-six students doing their final project in the Malaysian Cultural Course at the Community College, Kuching yesterday were overwhelmed with the presence of 150 other students who gathered at the college’s multi-purpose hall in support of them.
Also in attendance were the college’s deputy director (Management) Wan Khazlina Wan Mohamed, dhief of Programme in Tourism and Travel Mervin Gumba Sigai and dhief of Programme in General Studies Mohd Sani Azizan.
In his speech, Gumba said, “The course certification acquired today ensures the commitment of this institution with the Technical and Vocational, Education and Training (TVET).
“In the implementation of the syllabus today, we hope to churn out graduates who are holistic, balanced and with entrepreneurship characteristics,” he said when officiating at the ceremony.
Gumba also added, other than theory in the course, the students were also exposed to industrial training such as in the fields of management, tourism and travel planning.
“These are to equip them with knowledge and skills required in the world of work to attain the needs of industrial 4.0 revolution along with the state government initiative in going digital,” he pointed out.
He also explained the collaboration of Community College and Polytechnic Kuching ensured the students here would have a chance to pursue their interest and studies in tertiary education or at higher level learning.
