KUCHING: Hundreds of people gathered at the Kuching Waterfront Square here on Saturday evening for a special breaking of fast programme called “Sungkei Sama ERA Bank Rakyat”. 

The programme, held in conjunction with the month of Ramadan, was jointly organised by Bank Rakyat and ERA for their loyal customers.

During the programme, Bank Rakyat also presented 14 children from the Kuching Autism Association (KAA) and Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Terencat Akal (PERKATA) Sarawak with goody bags and “duit raya’”.

Nizam Sani, Bank Rakyat’s Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communication, said the picnic-style programme was to allow the bank to spend some quality time with the local people.

“This is the first time that the  bank is collaborating with ERA fm in the event and we look forward to making it  an annual event,”added Nizam.

The breaking of fast programme was participated  by various Bank Rakyat branches in Sarawak including Satok, Kota Samarahan, Simpang Tiga, Kota Padawan and Matang Jaya.

Also present were senior officials of  Bank Rakyat,ERA fm Malaysia’s popular recording artiste, Aizat Amadan,  local recording artiste, Ir Radzi and ERA fm deejays. 

To welcome the month of Syawal (Hari Raya Aidilfitri), Nizam said the bank  launched the “Ceria Beraya 2017” campaign on 15 May, 2017. The campaign, which  ends on 15 August, 2017, offers  up to RM300,000 worth of prizes for the lucky customers.

Nizam added that  the Barakah apps was introduced on 15 May, 2017 to meet the needs of modern Islamic lifestyles. It is a daily Islamic guideline for smartphoe users which can be downloaded for free from Play Store and App Store.
