SIBU: A man and his wife suspected of murder were arraigned in a Sibu Court on Wednesday (Oct 7).
The case involved the gruesome discovery of a woman’s body inside a suitcase at Jalan Aman here on Tuesday (Oct 6),
This was confirmed by Sibu district police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit when contacted on Wednesday (Oct 7).
According to him, the two suspects are from Kuala Lumpur and are acquaintances of the victim who was from Perak.
“The suspects who are husband and wife will be charged in court tomorrow.
“The case will be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code,” he added.
The two were arrested at a house in Jalan Tong Sang at 3.45pm on Tuesday after police found clues through the victim’s identity card number written in a note found next to her body.
It had led to the arrest of the two suspects.
Stanley, however, did not rule out the victim being killed elsewhere based on the bruises on the victim’s face and neck.
“However, we are still waiting for the results of the autopsy on the victim’s body,” he explained.
