KUCHING: The ASEAN-Australian Engineering Congress (AAEC2022) this time around takes a new turn.
The Engineers Australia Malaysia Chapter (EAMC), Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus (SUTS) and Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) will jointly host the congress, themed ‘Engineering Solutions in the Age of Digital Disruption’ in a hybrid format on July 12-14.
A statement from the organisers said Education 4.0 was one of the plenary tracks for the upcoming AAEC 2022, which would look at new techniques in the education system to foster and develop new and young talents to fit the expectations of IR4.0, particularly in the engineering sector.
“In conjunction with the upcoming congress in July 2022, there will be a Webinar on Education 4.0. : Current Outlook in Malaysia on April 28, 10.30 am-12.30 pm via Webex.
“This webinar will kick start the preliminary discussion on this subject matter by looking at the current overview and understanding of Education 4.0 in Malaysia,” the statement said.
Professor Dr Nor Aziah Alias from Universiti Teknologi MARA and a member of the Malaysian Society for Higher Education Policy and Research Development (PenDaPaT), Dr Chew Yen Seng from Chumbaka Sdn Bhd, and Professor Dennis Wong from Herriot Watt University Malaysia, will participate in the webinar as panellists to share their perspectives on topics such as ‘Shifting from Education 3.0 to 4.0,’ ‘Edu Tech for the Youth’ and ‘Education with Purpose and Impact: IR4.0 towards IR5.0’ respectively.
Dr Choo Chung Siung from SUTS and the secretary of AAEC2022 committee is the moderator.
