KUCHING: i-Systems College Kuching is offering a Diploma in Nursing sponsorship programme for students, especially Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) school leavers who are interested in the nursing field.
The programme has been accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), Malaysian Nursing Board and Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE).
i-Systems College Kuching Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pemanca Datuk John Tiong said the programme covers full tuition fees, hostel accommodation, transportation, monthly living allowances, uniforms, shoes and transportation to clinical placements.
“The three-year Diploma in Nursing programme facilitates learning through classroom lectures and tutorial, practice in simulation wards, simulation public health clinic and nursing skills lab. Clinical placements are also provided in many of the Ministry of Health (MoH) identified hospitals and community healthcare clinics.
“It is taught by a team of experienced lecturers and clinical instructors who hold degree or masters’ qualifications with more than 30 years of nursing experience.
“After completing the three-year programme, students will sit for the Malaysia Nursing Board examination to secure job placements at sponsoring hospitals,” he said in a press conference at Kuching International Airport on Monday (June 3).
Tiong added that they will also introduce Mandarin to be integrated in the programme to enhance the students’ communication skills.
He shared that the student intake will be held either in June or July and students will need to have five credits to apply.
“Based on the current operational capacity, the college can train about 300 nursing students per year.
“We have produced more than 500 nursing graduates in the industry, achieving 100 per cent employability within six months of graduation,” he said.
