KUCHING: Ibraco Berhad has handed over the keys to a newly built home for a long-time resident in Sungai Apong.

The ceremony, which took place on Monday (Oct 14), marked a life-changing moment for Chin Kim Chong, 67, who had been living in deteriorating conditions following the passing of his elder brother.

At the handover ceremony, representatives from Ibraco Berhad stressed the importance of giving back to the community and improving lives, expressing their honour in contributing to Chin’s new chapter by providing him with a safe and comfortable home, which they hope will bring him joy and peace.

In his previous living conditions, Chin, fondly known as Uncle Chin, faced many challenges, including a dilapidated house lacking basic amenities and proper infrastructure.

With the support of Hope Place, a local charity organisation, Uncle Chin received food and emotional support during difficult times.

The new house, thoughtfully constructed to meet Uncle Chin’s needs, features essential amenities like a proper toilet and a safe pathway.
