KUCHING: 19 established speakers who are experts in the field of digital economy are sharing their knowledge, experiences and thoughts during the inaugural ICT Infrastructure and Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) 2017 here.
The conference, which started yesterday and will end today at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), is a platform for sharing technological innovations and understanding how they are influencing every aspect of the modern society.
One of the speakers at IDECS 2017 is Key Note Speaker, Don Tapscott, a bestselling author on the subject.
Don was rated as the fourth most influential management speaker alive by the Thinkers50 group in 2015.
“He is complemented by 17 other highly experienced and knowledgeable speakers from the academia, technology providers, industry players, and practitioners.
“With the range and depth of knowledge and experiences gathered in this conference, I am confident that the proceedings will be extremely enriching and useful,” said State Secretary, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani in his opening remarks at the launching of the conference at BCCK here yesterday.
Morshidi added: “Technological advancements change the way we produce goods, deliver services, transact business and the way we share information and interact with each other”.
He urged the conference delegates to make the most of the conference by actively engaging in the sessions and raising any issues they faced.. “This is about charting the future economy of Sarawak.
“So please make your opinions and especially your concerns heard so that they will be given due consideration when the action plans are formulated,” he urged.
Earlier on, Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg declared open the conference. Also present were Deputy Chief Ministers, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr. James Masing and Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Morshidi as well as the Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly, Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar.
