SARIKEI: The state government is in the progress of identifying people’s projects that will be given priority to be implemented under the Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA).
According to Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), the projects involved include projects that have been announced by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg but have yet to be implemented, especially in Mukah, Sarikei and some in Sibu.
Deputy Minister for Urban Planning Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh said the approach was part of the government’s strategic move to ensure that all projects run smoothly and have an impact on the people.
“One approach that we will take for the implementation of RADDA, in the Sarikei and Mukah divisions and part of the district in the Sibu division, is to identify the projects that will be given priority, especially those that have been announced by Premier which are categorised as a people’s project but has not yet been implemented.
“In that regard, the allocation of RM 1.5 billion to RADDA will be fully utilised for that purpose,” he said in an informal meeting with RADDA’s special administrative officer, Kelana Kipli and the Sarikei divisional administration staff at the Sarikei Resident’s Office meeting room, recently.
Besides that, he said that the government remained committed in making the agenda a success because it will give huge impact on the people’s social and economic life in the long term.
“It is important for the assemblymen under RADDA to identify the projects that need to be implemented in the near future or even within the allocations that have been prepared by our Premier.
“I feel very confident with what we have discussed in terms of its implementation, with the cooperation of the Resident’s Office and also the districts in this part of Sarikei and Mukah,” he added.
