KUCHING: The state government has allocated a special annual grant of RM5,000 for all registered early childhood education centres in Sarawak.

Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said that the state government approved an allocation of RM16.6 million this year to all early childhood education centres numbering 3,030 in Sarawak.

“All registered early childhood education centres can apply for the special grant. Just make sure you meet all requirements that have been listed,” she said during her speech for FlashMob G2 Run 2.0 yesterday, here at Kuching Waterfront.

Fatimah said the special annual grant can be used for providing a healthy meal for the children at the learning centre and professional development courses for its teachers such as sending them to teachers’ conferences.

“Besides that, the grant can also be used for workshops and activities involving parents and also to purchase materials for learning purposes,” she added.
