MIRI: The National Youth Skills Training Institution (ILKBS) continues to excel in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli commended ILKBS for its commitment to aligning training programmes with industry needs.

This focus has resulted in an impressive 95.92 per cent employability rate for TVET graduates under the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) in 2023, with an average starting salary of RM2,019.

“This is an outstanding achievement,” he said at the 16th convocation of the Miri National Youth Skills Institute (IKBN) today (Oct 26).

Two ILKBS participants recently represented Malaysia at WorldSkills 2024 in Lyon, France.

Their participation followed a series of victories at WorldSkills ASEAN Singapore 2023, WorldSkills Asia Abu Dhabi 2023, and WorldSkills Malaysia Youth 2023.

ILKBS’ unique curriculum prioritises skills training (80 per cent) and human development (20 per cent).

“Self-discipline and personal growth are essential for tackling today’s social challenges,” he added.
