BAU: A 37-year-old man was arrested for alleged involvement in illegal gambling at Kampung Bidi here, today.
Its district police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said the suspect was arrested following a raid codenamed “Ops Dadu” at around 3.55pm.
“The suspect is believed to have been operating an illegal gambling activity at an eatery,” he said in a statement.
“We also seized a betting slip and cash amounting to RM155,” Poge said, adding that the suspect and items seized were taken to the police district headquarters for further action.
The case is being investigated under Section 4A (a) of the Common Gaming Houses Act, 1953.
