KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud received a courtesy call from a delegation of Sekolah Arab Moden Antarabangsa (IMAS) led by Deputy Chairman of Yayasan Al Noor which responsible for IMAS Kuala Lumpur, Tan Sri Ahmad Al-Fara in the former’s residence at Demak Jaya near here, yesterday. The visit was to seek Tun Taib’s views on the proposal to set up IMAS branch in Kuching.
IMAS is a modern international school in Putrajaya which is using Arab and English which was set up in 2007 and at present has about 1,600 students from 68 countries.
According to Ahmad, there is a request from people here that IMAS set up a branch in Sarawak, especially in Kuching.
Also present is IMAS sales and marketing executive, Anas Tulib, constultant Dr Rabyah Mohd Mansor, lecturer Adibah Ismail and Manager of Pelita Holdings Sdn Bhd, Yusuf Bujang.
