KUCHING: The Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) sprang into action to assist the victims of a devastating fire in Kampung Haji Baki today (Mar 22).
The blaze, which happened at 5.30 am, laid waste to eight homes, leaving families in dire straits.
The TBS, in collaboration with Batu Kitang assemblyman Datuk Ir Lo Khere Chiang, provided immediate first aid and essential supplies to the affected residents.
The TBS also announced the One-Off Emergency Assistance, totalling RM19,200.00, to be disbursed among the fire victims’ families.
Reflecting on the broader impact of its charitable efforts, the TBS revealed that, as of February 29, it has allocated a substantial sum of RM16.32 million in aid through its four principal initiatives: the Programme for Strengthening Knowledge Traditions, the Programme for Developing Islamic Institutions, the Programme for Strengthening Community Welfare, and the Community Skills Improvement Programme.
