SARIKEI: The Sarawak Immigration Department arrested 10 foreign nationals in wee-hour raids around Sarikei and Bintangor last Friday (Sept 27).

Acting on public complaints and gathered intelligence, surprise inspections were conducted at four locations, involving several residential houses and a rest and service (R&R) area.

Between 1am and 4am, the Sarikei Immigration Enforcement Unit screened a total of 37 individuals for proper documentation.

Of these, 10 men were taken into custody as they were found to have committed several offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63.

In light of this, the public is encouraged to report any information regarding the presence of undocumented migrants in their areas through online channels or directly to the nearest Immigration Enforcement Office.
