KUCHING: Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) Recovery BizFund Training Programme plays a pivotal role in equipping individuals and businesses with the necessary skills to thrive in a dynamic economic landscape.
Representatives from the SBF and Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) embarked on a comprehensive joint site visit across key locations in Miri and Bintulu for ongoing programmes under the SBF Recovery BizFund from March 18 to 20, 2024.
The visit led by SBF and co-chairperson of the programme Anne Kung and accompanied by an officer from MINTRED Mas Ammar Azhan was aimed to assess the progress and impact of training initiatives facilitated by the BizFund.
“The itinerary included visits to training sites in Miri, notably at Bandar Baru Permyjaya, for patisserie training, and the PPKS Lutong for Microsoft Excel Training.
“These visits allowed for firsthand insights into the effectiveness of the programmes in enhancing skills and capabilities among participants,” SBF said in a press statement today.
It also said that the team further visited Sedamai College Parkcity, Bintulu and Uma
Badeng, emphasising the importance of various training modalities, from Microsoft Office proficiency to handicraft skills, in driving economic empowerment across diverse sectors.
According to Kung, the site visits were part of SBF commitment in ensuring the effective utilisation of the RM20 million allocation from the government.
“This allocation aimed at empowering businesses and individuals across Sarawak,” she added.
The team’s journey concluded with a visit to Long Bangan, where they engaged in a hands-on handicraft training session.
