MIRI: Chairman of the Miri Teresang Dayak Association Ugik Jalit has helped to instil a love of the traditional Iban culture to the younger generation.

He has introduced his three young children, Emmerson Milang, Emmerich Mait and Dan Nnel to the Tattoo Festival held at Coco Cabana here from July 8 to 10.

The festival was organised by tattoo enthusiast Sylvester Juli.

Ugik said one’s own culture and traditions must be instilled to the younger generation while they are still young so as to preserve it.

“I also encouraged other parents to do the same so that together we can help to motivate our children to continue to preserve our culture and traditions,” he said.
