KUCHING: The 3rd Industry-University-Community (IUC) Connect Series was held at Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak Campus (Swinburne Sarawak).

The event saw Ubisson Sdn Bhd CEO Peter Ting speak on ‘IT for Big Tech Only?’ and ‘The Challenges Facing SMEs Going Digital: A Medical Industry Perspective’.

“Embracing IT is the only security to future-proof a competitive landscape that lies ahead. It is important for businesses to go digital to become competitive and thrive in the current landscape,” he said.

Swinburne Sarawak pro vice-chancellor and CEO Ir Prof Lau Hieng Ho said Swinburne aspired to work closely, particularly in identifying industry and community-based problems.

“We hope to strengthen our partnership by leveraging each other’s strengths and working together to develop a robust research and talent pipeline ecosystem in Sarawak’s IT sector,” he pointed out.

Meanwhile, Prof Ida Fatimawati Adi Badiozaman, the executive dean of research, said innovations in digital health reshaped how healthcare is accessed and provided.
