TELANG USAN: In a bid to improve the daily journeys of local residents, road signs have been strategically placed at various logging road intersections in Telang Usan.

Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau said the initiative led by the Sarawak Forestry Department focuses on critical locations such as intersections leading to Long Lama, Long Wat, Long Atip, Long Bedian, and Long Bemang.

“The initiative was implemented under the Foressa Club of the Sarawak Forestry Department by utilising allocation donated from my constituency fund.

“This initiative to mark the village intersections, especially in the Telang Usan district, is very important and needs to be continued to help road users, especially those who are new to and use the log roads here,” he said.

He said this during the inauguration ceremony of the Village Signs and Tree Planting Programme in conjunction with the celebration of Malaysia Day 2023 at Masjid Darussalam Belarek Long Lama here yesterday (Sept 16).

He said the logging roads are regularly used by the public, including civil servants working in remote areas.

“The marking of this road junction can at least help to smoothen out the journey of commuters,” he mentioned.
