MIRI: The inaugural Sarawak Occupational Safety and Health Conference (SOSH) was declared open today, aimed to continue strengthening awareness and the importance of occupational health and safety among employers and employees.
Nine speakers will present papers over the two days while a total of 15 booths have been set up to provide updates and information for participants.
“Awareness and being well-versed in occupational health and safety is very important, not only to ensure the safety and health of workers but also to reflect the image of the company or organisation, leading to high productivity and economic growth,” said Minister for Transport, Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, who spoke at the opening ceremony.
“I hope that via this conference, we can improve awareness of occupational health and safety among all in various industries,” he added.
